A very belated Happy New Year to all our site visitors.
Christmas and New Year are the busiest times for wedding proposals. Having spoken to one new bride to be today, her boyfriend ask her to go for a walk after Christmas lunch and a few metres from her home he dropped to his knee and pulled a ring box from his pocket. This was a complete surprise and it took her several minutes to recover enough to say YES!!! Now she has the fun of planning the wedding.
So where do you start! Perhaps with where and when? Both of these will decide the rest of your wedding. Venue or church? Home or away? Be prepared to set the date a long way in the future if you would like one of the more popular venues.
Once you have decided on a date a lot a couples send Save the date cards. These help potential guests know when to organise time off and travel/hotel bookings.
After the date comes the all important issue of setting a budget. This is really tricky. Every couple will want their wedding to be the best ever but that costs money. Once the budget is set you can start looking at possible suppliers for all those special touches you would like not forgetting the all important photographer and videographer! Try to stay within your budget so you are not paying off the cost for many months or even years.
For the bride it is all about the dress. The dress will set the tone for the rest of the wedding. Also, for the Bride to be,it is the most exciting moment. Choosing the dress can be stressful and exciting. When choosing a dress make sure you take a trusted person who will tell you the truth. “Does my bum look big in this?? Is a question that needs to be answered honestly!! Make sure you can move and breath!!! If choosing a lace up dress, have the dress tightly laced during ceremony and photos and then when waiting to be announced into the reception have your bridesmaid loosen the lace so you can sit and enjoy the Wedding breakfast.
There can be many pitfalls when wedding planning but the main thing to remember is that a wedding is a happy occasion and should be enjoyed. Many brides get caught in the trap of trying to please everyone. This cannot be done. Plan your wedding as you want it, whatever way you want it. If you want Vintage, Alice in wonderland, Butterflies or no theme at all. Its your day and you should plan it your way.
Here on The Wedding Gateway you will find suppliers who can help you achieve your perfect wedding. All we can say is HAPPY PLANNING!!!
